INSPECTION

2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT

1.CHECK POWER SUPPLY.

1) Disconnect the harness connector of body integrated unit.

2) Measure the voltage between harness connector terminal and chassis ground.

Is the voltage 10 V or more?

Check the harness for open or short circuit between body integrated unit and fuse.

2.CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT.

Measure the resistance between harness connector terminal and chassis ground.

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

The power supply and ground circuit are OK.

Repair or replace the harness.

3. CHECK DOOR LOCK SWITCH

1.CHECK DOOR LOCK SWITCH.

1) Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor kit.

2) Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF) and run the “PC application for Subaru Select Monitor”.

3) On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Integ. unit mode}.

4) Select the {Current Data Display & Save}.

5) Select the {Manual lock SW input}.

Does the display switch between OFF ⇔ ON when the door lock switch is moved to LOCK?

2.CHECK DOOR LOCK SWITCH.

From the condition in step 1), operate the door lock switch in the UNLOCK direction.

Does the display switch between OFF ⇔ ON?

The door lock switch is OK.

3.CHECK POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH.

1) Disconnect the harness connector of the power window main switch.

2) Check the continuity when the power window switch is operated to the LOCK direction.

Did the indicator change from “No continuity” (1 MΩ or more) to “Continuity exists” (less than 10 Ω)?

Replace the power window main switch.

4.CHECK POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH.

Check the continuity when the power window switch is operated to the UNLOCK direction.

Connector & terminal

(D102) No. 1 — (D102) No. 3:

Did the indicator change from “No continuity” (1 MΩ or more) to “Continuity exists” (less than 10 Ω)?

Replace the power window main switch.

5.CHECK HARNESS.

Measure the resistance between power window main switch harness connector and chassis ground.

(D102) No. 3 — Chassis ground:

Is the resistance 10 Ω or more?

Repair or replace the harness.

6.CHECK HARNESS.

1) Disconnect the body integrated unit connector (i84).

2) Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit and power window switch.

Is harness normal?

Replace the body integrated unit.

Repair or replace the harness.

4. CHECK REAR GATE OPENER BUTTON CIRCUIT

1.CHECK REAR GATE OPENER BUTTON.

1) Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor kit.

2) Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF) and run the “PC application for Subaru Select Monitor”.

3) On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Integ. unit mode}.

4) Select the {Current Data Display & Save}.

5) Select the {R Gate Release SW input}.

Does the display switch between OFF ⇔ ON when the rear gate opener button is operated?

The rear gate opener button is normal.

2.CHECK HARNESS.

1) Disconnect the body integrated unit connector and rear gate opener button connector.

2) Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit and rear gate opener button.

Is harness normal?

Repair or replace the harness.

3.CHECK HARNESS.

Measure the resistance between the rear gate opener button and chassis ground.

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

Repair or replace the harness.

4.CHECK REAR GATE OPENER BUTTON.

Measure the resistance between connector terminals both when the rear gate opener button is pressed and when not pressed.

Is the resistance less than 10 MΩ when the switch is pressed and 1 MΩ or more when not pressed?

Replace the body integrated unit.

Replace the rear gate opener button.

5. CHECK IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT

1.CHECK IGNITION SWITCH INPUT.

1) Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor.

2) Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF) and run the “PC application for Subaru Select Monitor”.

3) On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Integ. unit mode}.

4) Select the {Current Data Display & Save}.

5) Select the {BATT voltage (control)} and {IG power supply voltage}.

Is the voltage 0 V when ignition switch is OFF, 10 V or more when ignition switch is ON?

Ignition switch is normal.

2.CHECK HARNESS.

1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

2) Measure the voltage between the body integrated unit harness connector and chassis ground.

Is the voltage 10 V or more?

Replace the body integrated unit.

Repair or replace the harness, fuse and ignition switch.

6. CHECK DOOR KEY SWITCH (ONLY FOR DRIVER’S SEAT OF MODEL WITH DOUBLE LOCK)

1.CHECK DOOR KEY SWITCH.

1) Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor kit.

2) Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF) and run the “PC application for Subaru Select Monitor”.

3) On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Integ. unit mode}.

4) Select the {Current Data Display & Save}.

5) Select the {Door key-lock SW input}.

Does the display switch between OFF ⇔ ON when the door key switch is moved to LOCK?

2.CHECK DOOR KEY SWITCH.

From the condition in step 1), operate the door key switch in the UNLOCK direction.

Does the display switch between OFF ⇔ ON?

The door key switch is normal.

3.CHECK HARNESS.

1) Disconnect the harness connector of body integrated unit.

2) Disconnect the driver’s door lock actuator harness connector.

3) Measure the resistance between harness connectors.

Is harness normal?

Repair or replace the harness.

4.CHECK HARNESS.

Measure the resistance between harness connector terminal and chassis ground.

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

Repair or replace the harness.

5.CHECK DOOR KEY SWITCH.

Check the continuity when the door key cylinder is operated to the LOCK direction.

Did the indicator change from “No continuity” (1 MΩ or more) to “Continuity exists” (less than 10 Ω)?

Replace the door latch and door lock actuator assembly.

6.CHECK DOOR KEY SWITCH.

Check the continuity when the door key cylinder is operated to the UNLOCK direction.

Did the indicator change from “No continuity” (1 MΩ or more) to “Continuity exists” (less than 10 Ω)?

Replace the body integrated unit.

Replace the door latch and door lock actuator assembly.

7. CHECK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR AND CIRCUIT (MODEL WITHOUT DOUBLE LOCK, WITHOUT KEYLESS ACCESS)

4.CHECK HARNESS (REAR GATE UNLOCK).

Measure the resistance between the rear gate lock actuator and chassis ground.

5.CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL.

Measure the voltage between the connector terminals of the body integrated unit when moving the door lock switch to LOCK direction.

Replace the body integrated unit.

6.CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL.

Measure the voltage between the connector terminals of the body integrated unit when moving the door lock switch to UNLOCK direction.

Replace the body integrated unit.

7.CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL.

Measure the voltage between the body integrated unit and chassis ground when the rear gate opener button is operated.

Does the voltage change from less than 1.5 V → 10 V or more? (During unlock output)

Replace the body integrated unit.

8.CHECK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR.

Check the door lock actuator.

Replace the door latch and door lock actuator assembly.

9.CHECK REAR GATE LOCK ACTUATOR.

Check the rear gate lock actuator.

Is the rear gate lock actuator normal?

Check the connection status of the harness and connector that may have a temporary poor contact.

Replace the rear gate latch and actuator assembly.

8. CHECK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR AND CIRCUIT (MODEL WITH DOUBLE LOCK, WITHOUT KEYLESS ACCESS)

Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit and rear gate lock actuator.

Does the voltage change from 10 V or more → less than 1.5 V ? (During lock output)

Replace the body integrated unit.

14.CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL.

Measure the voltage between the connector terminals of the body integrated unit when moving the door key switch to UNLOCK direction.

Does the voltage change from less than 1.5 V → 10 V or more? (During unlock output)

Replace the body integrated unit.

15.CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL.

Measure the voltage between the body integrated unit and chassis ground when the rear gate opener button is operated.

Does the voltage change from less than 1.5 V → 10 V or more? (During unlock output)

Replace the body integrated unit.

16.CHECK DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR.

Check the door lock actuator.

Front door lock actuator

Rear door lock actuator

Is the door lock actuator OK?

Replace the door latch and door lock actuator assembly.

17.CHECK REAR GATE LOCK ACTUATOR.

Check the rear gate lock actuator.

Is the rear gate lock actuator normal?

Check the connection status of the harness and connector that may have a temporary poor contact.

Replace the rear gate latch and actuator assembly.
