1. Set the vehicle on a lift.
2. Place the drive select lever in the HI position.
3. Insert a narrow screwdriver into both sides of the knob and push it to remove the cover.

4. Remove the bolts, then remove the knob.
5. Remove the gear shift knob.
6. Remove the boot assembly.
7. Remove the console box. 
8. Loosen the flange nut.
9. Remove the clamp, and remove the drive select cable from the plate COMPL.
10. Remove the boot and insulator assembly.
11. Remove the air intake chamber and intake boot.
12. Remove the snap pin and clevis pin.

13. Loosen the nut, and remove the cable from the cable bracket.
14. Lift up the vehicle and remove the cable from the underside of the vehicle.
