FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS)(H4DOTC DIESEL) > Suction Control Valve
CAUTION:
• Do not wear cotton work gloves during the procedures, until the suction control valve is completely installed to fuel pump.
• Use a new suction control valve.
• Do not hit the tool against the fuel delivery pipe and fuel return pipe.
• Be sure to apply engine oil to the large O-ring and small O-ring.
1. Install the suction control valve to fuel pump.
(1) Install a gasket to suction control valve.
NOTE:
Carefully install the gasket to avoid deformation.
(2) Apply new engine oil to the entire perimeter of large O-ring, and install it to the O-ring groove of fuel pump housing.
(3) Apply new engine oil to the entire circumference of small O-ring.
(4) Install the suction control valve so that the connector is placed on the cylinder block side.
(5) Tighten the securing bolts alternately by hand until the suction control valve flange is in close contact with fuel pump housing.
(6) Tighten the securing bolts for suction control valve.
Tightening torque:
1st
4 N·m (0.4 kgf-m, 3.0 ft-lb)
Second
9 N·m (0.9 kgf-m, 6.6 ft-lb)
2. Connect the connector for suction control valve.
3. Clean the suction control valve vicinity, and perform air blow.
5. Pump the priming pump on top of the fuel filter assembly to fill the fuel system with fuel.
NOTE:
Pump the priming pump until it is stiff.
6. Connect the ground cable to battery.
8. Make sure there are no fuel leaks from the intake manifold vicinity and flange area of suction control valve.
9. Install the collector cover.
