FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS)(H4DOTC DIESEL) > Engine Control Module (ECM)
CAUTION:
When replacing the ECM, be sure to perform steps 1) and 2) before starting work.
1. Read and make a note of the fuel injector IDs registered in the ECM. 
NOTE:
• If the ECM is damaged and the Subaru Select Monitor cannot be used, make note of the ID (30 characters) on the top of the fuel injectors.
• Use copies of or print out this page.
3. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
5. Turn over the floor mat of passenger’s seat.
6. Remove the protect cover.
7. Remove the nuts and bolts which hold the ECM to the bracket.
8. While pushing the areas indicated by (A) in the figure, move the lock levers (B), and disconnect the ECM connectors.
