1. Pour water using a beaker or similar container into the hexagonal part of the engine coolant temperature sensor until it is approximately one-third full.
CAUTION:
Make sure that water does not get into the engine coolant temperature sensor connector. Remove any water if it gets in to the connector.
2. Raise the water temperature and measure the resistance when the temperature is at 20°C (68°F) and 80°C (176°F).
NOTE:
Agitate the water for even temperature distribution.
