KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS) > Diagnostic Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

An accessory relay cut input signal input error is occurring in the power supply CM.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

• The accessory power supply is not cut during engine start.

• Starter rotation is slow.

CAUTION:

When the power supply CM is replaced with a new unit, and the battery ground terminal is connected, it will become ignition ON. Also, if the battery is disconnected, it will resume to a condition with the battery cut off.

STEP	CHECK	YES	NO
1.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. 1) Disconnect the power supply CM connector (B420). 2) Using a tester, check continuity between the power supply CM terminal and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B420) No. 6 — Chassis ground: (B420) No. 40 — Chassis ground:	Is there continuity in the harness?		Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
2.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. 1) Disconnect connector (B135) from the engine ECM. 2) Using a tester, check continuity between the power supply CM and engine ECM. Connector & terminal Turbo model (B420) No. 31 (+) — (B135) No. 3 (−): Non-turbo model (B420) No. 31 (+) — (B135) No. 34 (−): Diesel engine model (B420) No. 31 (+) — (B134) No. 35 (−):	Is there continuity?		Repair the open circuit in the harness.
3.CHECK WIRING HARNESS. Using a tester, check continuity between the power supply CM connector and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B420) No. 31 — Chassis ground:	Is there continuity?	Repair or replace the short circuit of the harness.
4.CHECK POWER SUPPLY CM. 1) Connect the disconnected connectors. 2) Using a tester, measure the voltage between the power supply CM terminal and chassis ground when the push button ignition switch is pressed while depressing the brake pedal, with the shift lever in the P range. Connector & terminal (B420) No. 31 (+) — Chassis ground (−):	Did the voltage change from +B-2 V or more to less than 1 V?	Replace the power supply CM.	Replace the engine ECM.
