DTC U1217 CAN-HS EPS DATA ABNORMAL

DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

Received error data from EPS module.

TROUBLE SYMPTOM:

Electric power steering warning light illuminates.

WIRING DIAGRAM:

• Gasoline engine model

• Diesel engine model

STEPCHECKYESNO

1.CHECK DTC.

Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read all DTCs.

Is DTC other than U1202 displayed?

Perform the diagnosis according to DTC.

2.CHECK DTC.

Read the DTC of body integrated unit using Subaru Select Monitor.

Is U1217 a current malfunction?

3.CHECK DTC.

1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2) Disconnect the EPS CM connector.

3) Connect the disconnected connectors.

4) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

5) Read the DTC of body integrated unit using Subaru Select Monitor.

Is U1217 a current malfunction?

Replace the EPS CM.

4.CHECK HARNESS.

1) Shake the harness of each part.

2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

3) Read the DTC of body integrated unit using Subaru Select Monitor.

Is U1217 a current malfunction?

Repair or replace the harness.

5.CHECK CONNECTOR.

Check each connector.

Is there poor contact of connector?

Repair the connector, or replace harness.

Temporary poor contact occurs.
