PERIODIC MAINTENANCE SERVICES > Hill-holder System

INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT

1. Move the hill holder up an inclination of 3° or more to confirm the stopping and starting functions.

(1) When the vehicle does not stop:

Tighten the PHV cable adjustment nuts.

(2) When the vehicle does not start:

A: After the clutch is engaged, when the hill holder is released (and there seems like the engine has stalled): Gradually loosen the adjusting nuts until the start is smooth.

B: Before the clutch is engaged and the hill holder is released (the vehicle slightly slips): Tighten the adjusting nuts (State of A) so that the hill holder is released after the clutch is engaged. Then, adjust in the same way as A.

CAUTION:

When turning the adjusting nuts, use a pliers to hold the inner cable to prevent over-turning.

Replace the pressure hold valve (PHV) or PHV cable with new parts if there is a problem or damage.
