AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION(4AT) > Multi-plate Clutch
1. Install the drive plate and driven plate to the center differential carrier.
2. Measure the distance “A” from the end of ST to the multi plate clutch piston using ST.

3. Using the ST, measure the height “B” from the transmission case mating surface to end of ST.

4. Calculation formula:
T = A − B + 0.45 mm
[T = A − B + 0.0177 in]
Initial standard:
0.2 — 0.6 mm (0.008 — 0.024 in)
Limit thickness:
1.6 mm (0.063 in)
If the clearance exceeds the limit thickness, replace the plate set (drive and driven plate). Select a multi-plate clutch piston retaining plate that will bring clearance within the default standard value.
