DTC DETECTING CONDITION:

Immediately at fault recognition

CAUTION:

After repairing or replacing the defective part, perform the Clear Memory Mode and Inspection Mode .

1.SPECIFICATION CONFIRMATION.

Is the vehicle equipped with VDC?

2.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, ABSCM&H/U AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2) Disconnect the connectors from ECM, TCM, and ABSCM&H/U.

3) Measure the resistance between ECM and TCM connectors.

Is the resistance 1 Ω or less?

Repair the harness and connector.

NOTE:

In this case, repair the following item:

Open circuit in harness between ECM and TCM connector

Poor contact of joint connector

3.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, ABSCM&H/U AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between the ECM and ABSCM&H/U.

Is the resistance 1 Ω or less?

Repair the harness and connector.

NOTE:

In this case, repair the following item:

Open circuit in harness between ECM and ABSCM&H/U connector

Poor contact of joint connector

4.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, ABSCM&H/U AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between ECM and data link connector.

Is the resistance 1 Ω or less?

Repair the harness and connector.

NOTE:

In this case, repair the following item:

Open circuit in harness between ECM and data link connectors.

5.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, ABSCM&H/U AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between ECM and chassis ground.

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

REPAIR THE GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT IN HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, ABSCM&H/U AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

6.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, ABSCM&H/U AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between ECM connectors.

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

REPAIR THE GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT IN HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, ABSCM&H/U AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

7.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, VDCCM, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.

2) Disconnect the connectors from the ECM, TCM, VDCCM and the steering angle sensor.

3) Measure the resistance between ECM and TCM.

Is the resistance 1 Ω or less?

Repair the harness and connector.

NOTE:

In this case, repair the following item:

Open circuit in harness between ECM and TCM connector

Poor contact of joint connector

8.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, VDCCM, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between ECM and DCCM.

Is the resistance 1 Ω or less?

Repair the harness and connector.

NOTE:

In this case, repair the following item:

Open circuit in harness between ECM and VDCCM connector

Poor contact of joint connector

9.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, VDCCM, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between ECM and the steering angle sensor.

Is the resistance 1 Ω or less?

Repair the harness and connector.

NOTE:

In this case, repair the following item:

Open circuit of harness between ECM and steering angle sensor connector

Poor contact of joint connector

10.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, VDCCM, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between ECM and data link connector.

Is the resistance 1 Ω or less?

Repair the harness and connector.

NOTE:

In this case, repair the following item:

Open circuit in harness between ECM and data link connectors.

Poor contact of joint connector

11.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, VDCCM, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between ECM and chassis ground.

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

REPAIR THE GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT IN HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, VDCCM, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR CONNECTOR AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

12.CHECK HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, VDCCM, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

Measure the resistance between ECM connectors.

(B136) No. 35 — (B136) No. 27:

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

REPAIR THE SHORT IN HARNESSES BETWEEN ECM, TCM, VDCCM, STEERING ANGLE SENSOR CONNECTOR AND DATA LINK CONNECTOR.

13.CHECK AT SYSTEM.

Diagnose the AT using the Subaru Select Monitor.

Is DTC P1718 displayed?

Check the AT system.

14.CHECK ABS OR VDC SYSTEM.

Diagnose the ABS using the Subaru Select Monitor.

Is DTC 47 displayed?

Check ABS or VDC system.

Replace the ECM.
