RHD model

(B55) No. 9 — (B133) No. 3:

Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

Repair the open circuit of harness between TCM and hold switch connector, and poor contact of connector.

8.CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR BETWEEN TCM AND COMBINATION METER.

Measure the resistance of harness between TCM and combination meter.

Connector & terminal

(B55) No. 22 — (i10) No. 14:

Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

Repair the open circuit of harness between TCM and combination meter, and the poor contact of the connector.

9.CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR BETWEEN TCM AND HOLD SWITCH.

Measure the resistance of harness connector between TCM and chassis ground to make sure that circuit does not short.

Connector & terminal

(B55) No. 9 — Chassis ground:

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?

Repair the short circuit of harness between TCM and hold switch connector.

10.CHECK INPUT SIGNAL FOR TCM.

1) Connect the connector to TCM and hold switch.

2) Turn the ignition switch to ON (engine OFF).

3) Measure the signal voltage for TCM while the hold switch is OFF.

Connector & terminal

(B55) No. 9 (+) — Chassis ground (−):

Is the voltage 6 V or more?

Replace the TCM.

11.CHECK INPUT SIGNAL FOR TCM.

Check the signal voltage for TCM while the hold switch is ON.

Connector & terminal

(B55) No. 9 (+) — Chassis ground (−):

Is the voltage less than 1.5 V?

Replace the TCM.

12.CHECK POOR CONTACT.

Is there poor contact in the hold switch circuit?

Repair the poor contact.

A temporary poor contact of the hold switch circuit connector or harness may be the cause.
